iMovie 6.0 Help
Creating a video podcast
You can create and publish a video podcast using iMovie HD and iWeb.
Video podcasts are downloadable videos. People can download individual podcast shows or subscribe to podcasts so that the episodes are automatically downloaded to iTunes as they become available. If you know the Internet address of a podcast, you can also subscribe to it using that.
Video podcasts are different from video that is streamed over the Internet; video podcasts are downloaded to your computer, and you can copy them to an iPod with video capability.
Note: To publish a video podcast using iWeb, you must have iWeb 1.0 or later installed on your computer.
To create a video podcast:
- Create a movie using iMovie HD.
- After you finish creating your movie, choose Share > iWeb.
- Click "Share for video podcast."
- Click Share.
Note: If you create a movie that has a large file size, it will take longer for people to download your podcast. Therefore, you may want to limit the length of your movie.
Tip: You can add chapter markers and website links to your podcast. For more information, see Related Topics below.
Your movie is saved as a QuickTime movie and opens in iWeb.
For more information about using iWeb to publish your podcast so that others can subscribe to or download it, choose Help > iWeb Help when iWeb is open.
