Publishing your photos to Facebook

You can publish your photos to your Facebook account, so your Facebook friends can view and tag your photos.

To publish your photos to Facebook:

  1. Select the photos you want to publish.

  2. Click the Facebook button.

  3. If you’re not logged in to your Facebook account, or you don’t have a Facebook account, do one of the following:

    • To log in, click Set Up, type your user name and password in the Facebook dialog that appears, and then click Close.

    • To create a Facebook account, click Set Up, and then click the “Sign up for Facebook” link in the dialog. This opens the Facebook website.

  4. Click Close to close the next dialog.

    A publishing dialog appears.

  5. Choose an option from the “Photos Viewable by” pop-up menu.

  6. Click Publish.

    Your photos appear in the Source list as a published album.

To view your published photos:

  1. Select the published album to see the photos in the iPhoto viewing window.

  2. Click the website address at the top of the window to see how they appear on Facebook.

To add photos to your published album:

  1. Select the photo or photos you want to add.

  2. Drag your selected photos to the published album in the Source list.

  3. Click the publish icon to sync the photos in your published album with Facebook.

    When you’re visting the Facebook website, you can move photos into this album on the website. When you sync the published album in iPhoto, web-sized versions of these additional photos will appear in your iPhoto album.

To stop publishing your photos to Facebook:

  1. Select a published album in your Source list, and then press the Delete key.

  2. Click Delete in the dialog that appears.

    The album no longer appears on Facebook, but the photos remain in your photo library.

    If you moved photos to this album from within Facebook, iPhoto asks if you want to import them to iPhoto. Only web-sized versions are imported.
