Publishing your photos to Flickr

You can share your photos online by publishing albums to your Flickr account.

Note:If you want to include the location information with your published photos, choose iPhoto > Preferences, click Web, and select the “Include location information for your published photos” checkbox.

To publish your photos to Flickr:

  1. Select the photos you want to publish.

  2. Click the Flickr button.

  3. If you’re not logged in to your Flickr account, or you don’t have a Flickr account, click Set Up, and then do one of the following:

    • To sign in to your account, enter your user name and password in the Flickr webpage, and then click Sign In. If you haven’t already authorized Flickr to use its uploading tool to publish your photos, click “OK, I’ll Allow It,” and then close the website window and return to iPhoto.

    • Click the Sign Up link in the Flickr webpage and follow the site’s instructions. After you’re signed in to your new account, click “OK, I’ll Allow It” to authorize Flickr to use its uploading tool to publish your photos, and then close the website window and return to iPhoto.

  4. Use the pop-up menus to choose who can view your photos, and the photo size you want to appear.

  5. Click Publish.

    Your photos appear in the Source list as a published album.

To view your published photos:

  1. Select the published album to see the photos in the iPhoto viewing window.

  2. Click the website address at the top of the window to see how they appear on Flickr.

To add photos to your published album:

  1. Select the photo or photos you want to add.

  2. Drag your selected photos to the published album in the Source list.

  3. Click the publish icon to sync the photos in your published album with Flickr.

    When you’re using the Flickr website, you can move additional photos into this album (called a “set” on Flickr) on the website. When you sync the published album in iPhoto, web-sized versions of these photos will appear in your iPhoto album.

To stop publishing your photos to Flickr:

  1. Select a published album in your Source list, and then press the Delete key.

  2. Click Delete in the dialog that appears.

    The album no longer appears on Flickr, but the photos remain in your photo library.

    If you moved photos to this album from within Flickr, iPhoto asks if you want to import them to iPhoto. Only web-sized versions are imported.
