Mac OS X 10.5 Help
If it takes a long time for your document to print
When you print a document, Mac OS X sends a digital master PDF file of your document to the printer. This file is larger than a typical PDF file because the resolution of images in the file isn’t scaled down. If the document you’re trying to print contains high-resolution images, it may print more slowly than other documents.
You may be able to lower the image resolution using the application that created the document; however, lowering image resolution may reduce the quality of the printed document. For more information, see the documentation that came with the application.
