Mac OS X 10.5 Help
Sharing your printers with other computers
To let other computers on your local network use the same printers you use, turn on Printer Sharing.
You can share any of the printers in your Printer List (in Printer Setup Utility), whether they are connected directly to your computer or you access them over a network.
To share a printer that’s connected to your computer::
Choose Apple > System Preferences, and then click Sharing.
Select Printer Sharing.
Choose which printers to share.
You can share only printers that you select, or you can share all printers attached to your computer.
Shared printers automatically appear in Print dialogs on other computers connected to your local network (your IP subnet).
Documents waiting to print on your shared printers are stored on your hard disk. (That is, your computer hosts the queue for the printer.)
