Confirming access to your keychain after an application has changed

If an application changes in any way after you grant it access to your keychain, the application is no longer trusted and you must grant the application access again. This might happen if you update the application or if a virus infects the application. When the application needs access to the keychain item, a dialog appears asking you to grant permission.

If you update your system software, then you must reauthorize any updated applications that have access to keychain items. This includes servers you access using the "Connect to Server" command in the Finder.

You should only see this dialog if you recently updated your system software or the entry is new to your keychain. Otherwise, the application may have been infected with a virus. This would be a good time to deny access and run a virus scan.
