Mac OS X 10.4 Help
Printing several pages of a document on a single sheet of paper
If you need to print a long document but want to conserve paper, you can print more than one page on a single sheet of paper.
- Open the document you want to print, and choose File > Print.
- Choose Layout from the Copies & Pages pop-up menu.
- Choose the number of pages to print on each sheet from the "Pages per Sheet" pop-up menu.
- Click a Layout Direction button to specify how pages are ordered on the paper (for example, from left to right, right to left, and so on).
- Choose the type of border you want to separate the pages from the Border pop-up menu.
- If your printer supports two-sided (or duplex) printing, choose an option under Two-Sided.
The graphic shows you how the pages will appear on the paper.
If you know your printer supports two-sided printing but the two-sided printing options aren't available, you need to set up your printer so it displays its special features.
If you use a setting like this frequently, you can save it as a "preset" so you don't have to select it each time you print.
