When you run a workflow in Automator, events are displayed at the bottom of the workflow window.

You can open the Automator log to view all the events that occur when the workflow runs. You can diagnose problems with your workflow by analyzing these events when the workflow runs.

Error messages appear in dialogs, at the bottom of the workflow window, and in the log.

You can also use the View Results action to help troubleshoot your workflow. The View Results action shows the result information passed from the previous action. You can temporarily place this action after any action in the workflow to see the information flowing through the workflow at that point.

Note: If FileVault is enabled, some actions will be unable to access files in secured directories. This may cause some workflows to fail.
