Adding pictures to your Address Book

If you add a picture to a contact's card in Address Book, the picture appears in other applications that use Address Book information. For example, when you read email from that person in Mail, you'll see their picture in the message window. You'll also see it when you add the person to your Buddy List in iChat.

  1. Select the person's card in Address Book and click Edit.
  2. Double-click the picture area.
  3. Click Choose and locate a picture to use. You can also drag an image to the picture area, or if you have a video camera connected to your computer, you can take a video snapshot to use as a picture.

Use the size slider to enlarge or crop the picture you use.

The person doesn't see the picture you assign to his or her card; it's for your use only.
