This document provides the maximum dimensions for optical drives that you can install in the Power Mac G4 (Mirrored Drive Doors) computer.

When adding a second optical drive to a Power Mac G4 (Mirrored Drive Doors) computer, it must not exceed these dimensions:

Width 148 mm
Height 42 mm
Length 198 mm

The metal shield that covers the back of the optical drives and optical drive cables protects the drives and cables from damage. Make sure the shield is in place after installing or replacing the optical drives.
