How to tell which Graphic Acclerator Card/Chip is installed?
You can check to see which graphic accelerator card or chip is installed in your computer by launching Apple System Profiler which is usually pre-installed by Mac OS under the Apple Menu. If you do not have Apple System Profiler installed on your computer, you may download it from Apple's Software Updates web page at: http://download.info.apple.com/.
Launch Apple System Profiler. Click the "Devices and Volumes" tab. Click the triangle next to Display card in the PCI section of the window. The type of graphic accelerator card or chip should be listed in the Card name field as either "ATY, RageLTPro", "ATY, RagePro" or "ATY, Rage128".
Editor's Note: In determining if this update is needed, using Apple System Profiler 2.2 or later, the type of graphic accelerator card or chip listed in the Card name field can be "ATY, RageLTPro", "ATY, mach64_3DUPro", "ATY, RagePro" or "ATY, Rage128", not just the two listed in the paragraph above.
