This document discusses how to expand the iMac (Flat Panel).

You can expand your computer's capabilities several ways:
  • Installing memory
Your computer can support up to 1 gigabyte (GB) of memory. Installing more memory allows you to run more applications at the same time and may improve the performance of some applications.
  • Connecting external USB (Universal Serial Bus) devices
Quickly attach external devices such as printers, storage devices, digital cameras, joysticks, and more. Each USB port can support multiple devices (up to 127) using USB hubs.
  • Installing an AirPort Card
You can purchase an AirPort Card for your computer and install it easily. This card allows you to connect to a wireless network, play network games, and set up a wireless network for wireless Internet access.
  • Connecting external FireWire devices
Quickly attach external devices such as digital cameras, camcorders, storage devices, and more. You can connect as many as 63 FireWire devices (including computers).
  • Connecting an external display or projector
Connect an external display to the computer and share what's on the computer's screen, for example, for a presentation. You can also do this by connecting a television to your computer
using a scan rate converter. (Some televisions have a built-in scan rate converter.)
