About iTunes for Mac OS X
iTunes for Mac OS X lets you create your own personal digital music library, allowing you to manage and play your collection of high-quality MP3s with drag-and-drop simplicity. With a supported CD-RW drive, you can even create your own custom audio CDs or MP3 CDs.
What's new in iTunes 2.0.4
iTunes 2.0.4 offers expanded AppleScript support, and improved stability and performance.
Requirements
iTunes works with all Macintosh computers that have built-in USB ports and use Mac OS X (v 10.1.1 or later).
Make sure you have the latest version of Mac OS X. Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu, then click Software Update. Click Update Now to retrieve updates for your system. After you install an update, it's a good idea to click Update Now again to make sure you've gotten all the updates that are available.
To create audio CDs with iTunes, you must have a supported CD-RW drive. All internal Apple-supplied CD-RW drives work with iTunes. For a list of other drives that also work, see the iTunes Web site at www.apple.com/itunes/
Installing iTunes for Mac OS X
If you have previously installed iTunes for Mac OS X, delete the old version before installing the new one. If you put iTunes in your Dock, remove the old iTunes icon from the Dock, then after you install the new iTunes, drag the new iTunes icon to the Dock.
If you receive a message that you do not have sufficient privileges to install this software, click the lock icon in the installer and enter an administrator's name and password. The administrator's name is shown in the Users pane of System Preferences. For more information, see Mac Help in the Help menu.
